Nystagmus

Definition

Rhythmic, oscillating motions of the eyes are called nystagmus. The to-and-fro motion is generally involuntary. Vertical nystagmus occurs much less frequently than horizontal nystagmus and is often, but not necessarily, a sign of serious brain damage. Nystagmus can be a normal physiological response or a result of a pathologic problem.

Nothing ever goes according to plan

I went to the store to buy an ink pen
I came back instead with a speckled hen
I went to the park to take a walk
But instead I ate a celery stalk

I lay downstairs to take a nap
But found myself making a bap
I called a friend to share a joke
But her house was just going up in smoke

I bought some lottery and began to dream
But the dream was ruined by my neighbour's scream
I sat down to write a wonderful song
But that was ended by the dinner gong

Off for a stroll to the shop I went
But alas! my money was already spent
I prayed to God for my daily bread
But by then, I was already dead.
