Never did you leave
Though I saw you go
Through those double doors
Into the raging fires beyond.
I wept for the man you were
For the form
Divinely shaped
Into the frame
Of a man's man.
Then I wept
With relief
For your freed soul.
When the wind rises
Amongst the giant trees,
When my heart is heavy,
When the morning mist
Curls into the valleys,
When I savour my coffee,
When I smell the soap
You used everyday,
I hear you calling me
From somewhere close
In my heart.
Though I saw you go
Through those double doors
Into the raging fires beyond.
I wept for the man you were
For the form
Divinely shaped
Into the frame
Of a man's man.
Then I wept
With relief
For your freed soul.
When the wind rises
Amongst the giant trees,
When my heart is heavy,
When the morning mist
Curls into the valleys,
When I savour my coffee,
When I smell the soap
You used everyday,
I hear you calling me
From somewhere close
In my heart.
