Nystagmus

Definition

Rhythmic, oscillating motions of the eyes are called nystagmus. The to-and-fro motion is generally involuntary. Vertical nystagmus occurs much less frequently than horizontal nystagmus and is often, but not necessarily, a sign of serious brain damage. Nystagmus can be a normal physiological response or a result of a pathologic problem.

Ludi incipiant

*Ludi incipiant!
He said she said
All of us knew
Or knew not
As it seems;
That the Knowing
Were the always mum
And they were
Just a few.

Stranger things
May happen or not
Action packed the stillness
The shadow dancers leap and twirl
To the Emperor's wilfulness.
To save the queen, lies dead the pawn;
For daggers drawn are sheathed again
And sheathed again and drawn,
For such is the nature of the play
The political game is on.

As we watch wonderstruck
At fumble and the mumble
Not to speak of threats and calls
The feigning and the grumble.
So on and on
The world spins by
The head goes tumbling down,
Joins on to some other bod
In approval we do nod.

*Ludi incipiant- Greek for 'let the games begin'
